Inside / Out

Here are some pictures of our group 'Inside / Out'. They are an amazing group of kids and we have had a great year. We have about 12 different nationalities represented this year. We took a picture this last weekend as some families will be leaving soon. Alot of them are wearing the t-shirts we had made with the logo 'Inside / Out' on the front and W.I.L.L. Walkers in Light and Love on the back. We have fallen in love with the song 'Inside Out' by Hillsong and felt that it was something we wanted to be known for... we want to live from the Inside Out.

Olivia is always in the middle of the group during our worship time with hands raised. Her favorite thing is worship and she doesnt budge when the 'Mighty to Save' dvd is on...
We just had a great bon fire a couple weeks ago, but as the Mekong had started to rise, we had to move it to our house.. so Dave and the men proceeded to dig a hole in our front yard for the bonfire. We roasted hot dogs but decided we couldnt invest in $8. marshmellows. Oh well.. we played games (Limbo above) and sang when it got dark... sweet
Jaap-Jan, Anamai, Meri, and Charissa helping paint the 'Women at Risk' house last Sat. WE had a blast serving this way and the kids got the WHOLE HOUSE painted in 3 hours!!! Great job guys. They partied after by painting handprints on each others calves when we were done... seafoam green.. yuck!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Tribute to my Mother on Mothers Day!

I love you mom... my husband loves you, our kids love their Nani... you are a very special woman to us all. Thank you for all you do and the way you invest in the lives of your kids. You were always in the Word, always prying for us.. always bekoning us to lead Godly lives and we love you for it. Your faithfulness to Daddy is beautiful and a lovely example for us all. Thank you for the way you cared for Gpa Reid so selflessly and now care for your own parents with grace and gentleness. Thank you for dropping everything and coming to our rescue SO many times.. each childs delivery, with Hudson in Bangkok, carrying for the boys while we were in Thailand, and the visits here to Laos. There is always great joy in knowing Nani is on the way!

Even tho we are miles apart... you are close to our hearts and we long for the time we can see you again. (Christmas, yeah!!) Happy Mothers Day ~ I love you, we love you~

Where in the World is Matt Lauer??? (LAOS!!!)

So, we had a TOTALLY fun evening last night. I get a skype blurb from Alex Busskohl (although Jerry Federle would like credit for letting them know!) :) and it says 'Hey, Matt Lauer is in Laos somewhere talking live......' after asking a couple questions I realize he is literally around the corner from us. I yell for Dave who had just pulled in from taking the boys swimming and tell him to hurry and see if he is still at the That Luang (huge temple) and he takes off with boys in tow. ( I was sick that I had to stay for a mtg that never ended up happening)...

Dave calls a few minutes later saying sure enough, Matt was broadcasting 60 ft. in front of him and they were going to stick around watch. SSSOOOO cool!

I jump back on skype and tell my brother Jon and Alex to call friends and family and let them know the boys were there -in case- they happened to get to be on or in the background etc... No more than 3 minutes later, Matt actually mentions live that there are loads of tourists in Laos, but also US folks who live here. He has time to say hi to a few and Nathaniel is one of them! He just said his name and that he was from Norfolk, Ne. but he and DAve were ON!! Dave said there were several people in a line there, but that when he saw Dave with all the boys he scooted past the rest and came to them- hehehe

Anyway, David got about 4 pics of Matt and then the batteries died. Sigh. He did go up to Matt later, shake his hand and talk for a second, but he didnt think of getting a pic of him and the boys until later! oh well.

Once I realized my mtg. wasnt happening I jumped in the car with Olivia and went myself. They were just finishing up and getting ready to leave, so I just watched, but it was sooo fun to see the crew of NBC and all the behind the scenes guys. It was a great experience for the kids and they were totally thrilled with having that happen to them!

We also think it was a brilliant opportunity for Laos to be 'discovered'. I would challenge everyone to go to the Today show webpage and watch the little blurbs they did on Laos and its people while here. It is very well done of course and will give you a beautiful insight into the country. Unfortunately, Nathaniels milli-second of fame isnt on as it was not done in the first hour of the broadcast.

ISAAK

Hey I’m Isaak! You all know, the one with the book in my hands in the family picture down below.
The book I was holding was called (The Lightning Thief). I finished that- which was book one, and finished book 3 of the series today!

I love reading…I did like doing video games. You know-. ps2 games, but I’m way over that. You see I always loved ps2. But one day it fell off of a shelf and broke.
It was broken for at least half a year….I got use to it being broken. I got in to reading later on and now I kinda don’t like ps2.
But get this. Its starting to work again!!! Now were all dying to play because its so new.
But I still don’t like it…..

But hey…That’s all about the ps2. Let’s get on to better things to talk about.
Oh bother. I’ll just go super fast….My favorite color is blue, my favorite type of food is spaghetti and this is a bit strange to say but my favorite type of drink is coffee.
Eeeerrrrrr, a bit weird huh? Yeah, well I cant resist drinking it.
I sometimes take a sip of my brothers coffee when there not looking.
Don’t tell any one I said that!!! HEH HEH!!!

Any way. I just turned ten about a month or two ago so I have a bit more privileges.
For instance…I just got my own email. I love it!!!
And now I can watch some new movies that were for older kids.
And I can go to some places by myself. It rocks being a ten year old.
But I bet it would be alot better being a twelve year old or a fourteen year old like my older brothers.

I’M LOVING LIFE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackson before and after~

So, Jackson made a huge decision today to chop off all his locks. :) He, Nathaniel and David leave in the am bright and early for a week trip up through northern Laos- and I guess he thought it would be a bit cooler! They are heading up with an ELIC friend Brad Thompson. Pray that they have a safe journey (David is driving and they will be on the road ALOT)... and especially as its a major holiday weekend coming up... Im asking for sweet bonding time and that they would feel the powerful presence of Father as they enjoy His creation!

Ill sure take your pryers also as Im home with the other 4. We will miss our older men!

Many of these kids continue on to higher classes and we see them often. Here is David with some of his students. Mee is in black and Omala in red. They have been over several times.
